The latest weddings update is great news. The government has recently stated that weddings can go ahead with restrictions on numbers lifted. It’s been a long time coming. After the previous fourteen months of inactivity, it comes as a massive relief.
I have to say I wasn’t expecting it so soon. It has been an incredibly tough year for all those who make their living from the wedding industry. I don’t doubt that many businesses have gone to the wall. Not knowing when the various lock downs and severe restrictions would be lifted, many have simply ceased to exist.
Fortunately, I’m not in that category. All of my clients have had to re-book several times and I already have a busy 2022 ahead of me which is great. For the benefit of everyone, I certainly hope that we can rid ourselves of the Covid-19 virus and move on with our lives.
The last twelve months have seen me film just three weddings and I was very grateful indeed for those. My most recent wedding was filmed in two parts in December and June, a half year apart. The reception was at Howfield Manor, a venue I hadn’t filmed at before. Ironically, it is the location of my next wedding.
What does it mean for you?
This latest weddings update, courtesy of Boris, allows unrestricted attendances limited only by the venue’s ability to control social distancing. You can read more about it here.
Personally, I feel that this is a small setback given that we were only allowed a maximum of thirty guests until a week ago. This latest news now means that couples can invite everyone they would have wished for. It’s a small price to pay.
