The perfect wedding venue is Marleybrook House, located in Preston, a short distance from Canterbury, Kent. A secret for most that I’ve talked to but a place that needs to be known.
I only mention this venue because few know about this jewel. I’m not on their payroll. My only wish is to find myself filming there a lot more often. I find it incredible that the venue is not better known. In fifteen years, I have been there once but I hope this will soon change.
I filmed Carly and Rob’s wedding, above, a couple of years ago and the day went like clockwork. Everything I could possibly wish to film happened, the weather was great as were the couple and their guests. I have filmed many weddings at many venues in and around Kent. Marleybrook House is the one that puts a smile on my face.
The reason for that is this. They have a fairground there. Yes, dodgem cars, ferris wheels, plenty of rides and even a coconut shy. What a fantastic place to get married and a solid guarantee to bring out the best in everybody. That is what my camera is looking for and I’m looking forward to being back there this year. I can’t wait!
The fairground is fully staffed and all the rides are free. OK, I might be a big kid, I won’t deny that but I could never find a lack of inspiration when filming here.
That is why Marleybrook house is the perfect wedding venue.
