Cheryl and Matt defied all odds and were married last month.
2020 has been a terrible year for everyone. Weddings have been cancelled or postponed all over the world. So it gives me so much pleasure to say that Cheryl and Matt weren’t going to be beaten. I was there to film their wedding day and it was fabulous.
Even though they were limited to thirty guests, it was one of my best weddings. In reality, the size of the guest-list doesn’t affect my work. I still put in the same amount of work. What does make these limitations different is the intimacy of the day.
Cheryl and Matt were able to spend more time with their friends and families. That made their wedding day more memorable.
The venue for this fantastic day was The Bull Hotel in Wrotham, Kent. I hadn’t filmed here before but I hope to do so again. It had everything you could wish for your wedding day. The photographer was Emily Calcott who I hadn’t met before. She was an absolute pleasure to film with and we both worked well together.
I know 2020 has been a bleak year but it doesn’t have to be. Anything is what you make it and you can always turn a situation to your advantage. I’ve noticed that weddings tend to be traditional. It’s the ones that take a different route which stay in your mind though. I knew a groom who wanted to get married on a ship by the captain. It didn’t happen but that’s an original thought. Actually, it was me…
Cheryl and Matt proved that you can have a great wedding day despite all the current rules. I went that extra mile for them and even stayed on after I’d finished filming. That’s how good a day it was.
