Back to the future!
Megan and Dafydd were recently married at St Anthony’s Church in Alkham, Kent. We were there to film their big day.
A lovely couple, they both had a fascination for life in the 1940s and having met them at the rehearsal, it was a theme I wanted to explore with the video. I wanted to stay away from anything that might be bordering on kitsch so I figured I’d get to know them at the rehearsal as well as on the wedding day.
Dafydd was on special leave from the R.A.F for his wedding day and that set part of the theme for me. He was in uniform all day and that, with the help of some relevant music and camera technique gave me my scope.
After the church ceremony, we all headed to Havenfield Hall near Fokestone for the wedding reception. This is a great venue for weddings, so much space. I hadn’t been there before and can’t wait to get back.
Editing their wedding video gave me flashbacks of “The Shining” end credits, one of my favourite films. I had to place myself as if I’d shot the wedding in 1944.
The photographer for the day was Dave Gilbert, a charming professional and we worked very well together. His photos were fabulous.
In their words…
A few days after they received the video, Megan had this to say…
Just watched the wedding video… WOW!!! Definitely worth the wait!! Absolutely love it!! So so happy with it.
Love all the small details included! Daf especially loves the spitfire clip!! Cannot fault your work at all!! I could watch it over and over again!! It really made me enjoy the day all over again! So many bits I forgot even happened!! And love that you captured Daf and I pulling faces at each other! Haha!
But seriously thank you so much for the video and thank you so much for being part of our day!! Literally so happy with it.
All the best,
